About

My name is Dan.

I graduated with a Master of Science degree in cybersecurity (GPA 4.0) and am currently Network+, Security+, CySA+, CSAP+, and CCENT certified. I discovered my passion for cybersecurity from an undergraduate professor while attending the University of Maryland.

This blog covers security news, technical IT/security concepts, and more. I also teach bug bounty and penetration testing tutorials using my own network and applications in a legal and ethical manner. All tutorials use systems that I own.

What is Cybersecurity?

Cybersecurity is the protection of computer systems from the theft and damage to their hardware, software or information, as well as from disruption or misdirection of the services they provide. It is the state of being protected against the criminal or unauthorized use of electronic data, or the measures taken to achieve this.

The tertiary goals of my web site are:

  1. To teach about cybersecurity and any of its related domains,
  2. To use this as a platform to advertise who I am, and
  3. To contribute; give something back to the infosec community.

It’s my hope with creating this Web site that I will spark your interest in cybersecurity, just as my undergraudate professor did for me. You’ll learn a lot of interesting things stemming from a wide range of cybersecurity topics. And, with a world so heavily dependent on cybersecurity, why wouldn’t you be excited to learn?
